Seven Wines That Make Me Smile

Why do I love wine? Why does anybody love wine? Memories… memories of a special occasion with family and friends or memories of the first time you splurged on a beautifully bold Merlot. I’ve been hooked ever since my first Dom Perignon on a New Year’s Eve long, long ago (and no, I’m not telling you how long ago). This is my passion. This is what I do every day, and I love it.

And now I get to share my grapeful obsession with you. Shall we begin?

Luccarelli Salice Salentino 2009. Just like my favorite comfy food PB&J. It’s rich and jammy with bright fruit and medium body.

L’ecole Syrah 2004. My favorite burger wine. Oh yeah, I’m talking charcoal grill, one pound of meat grilled to perfection, on a big bun and loaded with everything. Served up with home-style fries and watermelon, and I’m smiling the rest of the day.

Orin Swift Saldo 2009. My every day wine. Orin Swift is known for robust thick wines that linger forever on the palate, and this one is no exception.

Domaine Serene Pinot Noir 2008. Big for a Pinot but oh so regal and complex. I call this my “Impress the Guest” wine. It carries a Memorable Evening Guarantee.

Moseland Ars Vitis 2008. A little dry and tart with good minerality and very refreshing. This Riesling is my wine of choice to start the evening. It’s perfect for sipping out on the patio on those hot summer nights.

Calera Chardonnay 2009. I love this wine! Big fruit and creamy flavors. And being the true cork dork that I am, this wine tells me from which hillside all of the fruit comes. Calera has such pride for their product.

Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee 2006. Made from the Pinot Noir grape, its fresh taste makes it very easy to drink. The sweet price point doesn’t hurt either.

As you see, it doesn’t matter how big or small the occasion but the people and wines that bring us together, creating happiness and memories for life.

It wasn’t long after that when I realized I needed to know anything and everything about my favorite beverage. The next logical step was the Sommelier program, which is an ongoing journey to both satisfy my personal growth and to exceed your expectations. follow me on twitter: twitter.com/vinovent
